Cotton Tablecloth and Napkins Set Tutorial

YOU WILL NEED

- FS Exclusive Tablecloth and 4 Napkins Set

- Matching thread. We like Gutermann All-Purpose or Cotton thread

- Iron

- Sewing Machine

FINISHED DIMENSIONS

Tablecloth: Approx. 58" x 58"

Napkins: Approx. 18" x 18"

STEPS

The following directions apply for both the tablecloth and napkins. 

1. Iron your unwashed fabrics so they are wrinkle-free.

2. Fold one edge 1⁄4" to the wrong side (the side without the print) and press. Fold again, another 3 ∕ 8" and press again. Pin in place.

3. Sew the pressed edges down. Sew close to the inner fold and make sure to backstitch at the start and end of your stitching.

4. Repeat step 2 and 3 for the edge opposite the one you have just sewn.

5. Repeat steps 2-4 for the remaining unsewn sides. Make sure to pin carefully so your corners match up neatly. Be sure to not stretch or pull the fabric as it goes through the machine to prevent rippled edges.

6. Trim away any loose sewing thread. You can square out your fabric by gently tugging the corners in each opposite direction. Then give your hems a final press to set the stitches.

7. Your tablecloth and napkins are ready to be laundered. To ensure your set lasts a lifetime, be sure to wash on a warm gentle cycle, and machine dry on a low setting. Line drying is also ok.
