Super easy half aprons using our 100% Cotton Kitchen Tea Towel Kits!
You will need
- 1 kitchen tea towel kit with a design that looks great on it's side.
- 3 yards cotton belting or cotton twill tape for the ties - This is per kitchen towel if you want to be able to wrap the ties around your body.
- Matching thread
Instructions
1. Cut your kitchen tea towels down the middle following the cut line. Trim away any selvedges and cut lines from the perimeter of each towel.
2. Fold the long edges ¼” to the wrong side of the fabric and press. Fold an additional ⅜” and press again.
3. Sew the pressed edges down close to the inner fold, making sure to backstitch at the start and end of your sewing.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to hem the short edges of your kitchen tea towel.
5. Cut your ties to your desired size. Then, fold over the ends twice to hide the raw edges, about 1/4". Sew in place.
6. Fold the other end of your ties under 1/4" once, then place at the top corners of your kitchen towel where you would like your ties to go. Pin in place, hiding the raw edge of the tie between the layers of the tie and towel, as shown.
7. Sew the ties to the apron. I chose to sew a square around the edge of the tie and kitchen towel to secure in place neatly.
Done!
